Exported from Google Earth — your driving route

What this is for. Sometimes Google Maps cannot correctly locate a place, or it sends people the wrong way to get there. This is very common with hotel and Airbnb bookings, guesthouses, villas and rural properties that sit on small roads, new streets, or unmarked driveways. A guest types the address into Google Maps, and it drops them at the wrong building, the wrong village, or routes them down a road that doesn't reach the property. This tool solves that: you record the correct route in Google Earth, and it produces a link that walks the traveller along the exact path and to the exact point — past the spots where Google would otherwise get it wrong.

How to use it. Mark your route in Google Earth from a known starting point (a main road, a town centre, a landmark) all the way to the property or destination. Export it as KML or KMZ, upload it here, and share the generated link with your guest. When they tap it, Google Maps opens with your route already built in.

Two important limits:

1. It does not work for hikes or walking trails. This tool is for driving routes only. Google Maps will treat the link as a car route. For hiking trails on foot, mountain paths, or anything off the road network, use a hiking app such as Komoot, AllTrails or OsmAnd instead.

2. Google Maps allows a maximum of 9 waypoints. That means a start point, an end point, and up to 7 turning points in between. For most property and hotel routes this is more than enough. For very long or very winding routes, the tool automatically keeps the most important turns and drops the minor ones.

⚠ Always test the link before you send it

This works in most cases, but not every single one. Map data, road changes, and how each phone is set up can all affect the result. Everyone should open and test the link themselves first — tap "Test in Google Maps" below and confirm it leads where it should — before sharing it with a guest or client.

Analyze Terrain from GPS

Drop a GPX, KML, or KMZ track and get slope angle, aspect, and an elevation profile pulled from public terrain data (Copernicus DEM, 30 m resolution) — the same numbers an avalanche bulletin would use, computed right here on your device. Nothing about your route is sent anywhere; only a small piece of a public terrain file is fetched to compute it.
